Auto Heritage is an independent digital archive dedicated to documenting European contemporary automotive heritage. It is part of the Singular Heritage network, operated by Displace Agency. Our website is autoheritage.eu. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our platform.
2. Data we collect
We collect minimal data necessary to operate the archive and communicate with our community:
- Newsletter subscriptions: Email address only. Used exclusively to send archive updates and editorial content.
- Contact form submissions: Name, email, organization (optional), message content, and inquiry type selections.
- Analytics: Anonymous usage data (pages viewed, time on site, scroll depth) collected through Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager. No personal identifiers are tracked in analytics.
3. Legal basis for processing
We process your data under the following legal bases (GDPR Art. 6):
- Consent: Newsletter subscriptions and analytics cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interest: Processing contact form inquiries to respond to your requests.
- Necessary for service: Essential cookies required for the website to function.
4. How we use your data
- To send newsletter updates about new archive entries, journal articles, and Auto Heritage developments
- To respond to contact form inquiries
- To improve the archive based on anonymous usage patterns
- We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes
5. Data storage, security, and retention
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Newsletter subscriptions and contact form data are processed through our email service provider and database hosted within the European Union. Images and static assets are served through Cloudflare's global CDN network.
- Newsletter data: Retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
- Contact form data: Retained for up to 24 months after your inquiry is resolved.
- Analytics data: Retained for 14 months (Google Analytics default).
6. Your rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access - Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification - Request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure - Request deletion of your personal data
- Portability - Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent - Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in every email
- Lodge a complaint - You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your EU member state
7. Cookies
Auto Heritage uses essential cookies required for the website to function and analytics cookies (via Google Analytics 4) to understand how visitors use the archive. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party cookies for marketing. See our Cookie Policy for details.
8. Third-party services
- Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager - Anonymous usage analytics (pages viewed, scroll depth, engagement events). No personal identifiers are sent to Google.
- Cloudflare - CDN and security (processes IP addresses for DDoS protection)
- Vercel - Hosting platform (processes server logs)
- Resend - Transactional email delivery for contact form confirmations and newsletter communications
- Supabase - Database hosting for archive content (hosted within the EU)
