Lancia 037 RallyPhotography coming soon
The last rear-wheel-drive car to win the WRC manufacturers' championship (1983). Beat the 4WD Audi Quattro on pure driving skill.
History
When Audi's Quattro seemed unstoppable, Lancia bet on a lighter, mid-engine RWD approach. Engineered by Abarth with a supercharged engine, it won the 1983 WRC championship — the last time a 2WD car would take the crown. Walter Rohrl was unbeatable on tarmac.
