History
Mercedes needed 25 road cars to homologate the CLK GTR for the FIA GT Championship. The road car used a 6.9-litre V12 producing 612hp through a sequential gearbox. It dominated the 1998 FIA GT season. At $1.5 million it was the most expensive road car ever when new.
