V12

Twelve cylinders arranged in a V produce perfect mechanical balance and a sound that transcends engineering. The V12 is the engine of excess, used when eight cylinders would suffice but twelve deliver something money cannot otherwise buy. Ferrari, Lamborghini, and BMW have each built defining V12s, and every one produces an idle note that justifies the added complexity, weight, and fuel consumption.
