The facelifted C3 100 with updated bumpers and the prokon-ten safety system — Audi's pioneering passive safety technology that pushed the engine under the car in a frontal crash.
History
The prokon-ten system used steel cables to pull the engine downward and rearward in a collision, simultaneously tensioning the seatbelts. It was the most advanced passive safety system of the late 1980s.
