Front 3/4Click to expand
The smallest, most affordable BMW — and the only rear-wheel-drive hatchback in its class. The 1 Series brought BMW's driving philosophy to the premium compact segment.
History
While competitors used front-wheel drive for packaging efficiency, BMW insisted on rear-wheel drive for the 1 Series. The 130i, with its 3.0-liter inline-six producing 265 hp, was an unlikely hot hatch that delighted enthusiasts.
