Twin-Turbo

Two turbochargers working together eliminate the compromises of a single large turbo. Sequential systems use a small turbo for low-rpm response and a larger one for top-end power. Parallel systems split exhaust duties between two equally sized units. The Porsche 959 pioneered sequential twin-turbo in 1986. Ferrari and BMW adopted parallel configurations. The result is linear power delivery from idle to redline.
